Il \u00e9tait un produit de la <strong>Haute bourgeoisie<\/strong> sa famille \u00e9tant de <strong>Origine portugaise<\/strong>. Bien qu'il se soit trouv\u00e9 en d\u00e9saccord avec son camarade James Ensor, son \u00e9ducation a jet\u00e9 les bases de son style unique.
